Looking for somewhere to stay that’s convenient to the North Coast? Why not try Evaron House Bed and Breakfast? Here’s what the owner, Melanie, had to say about it…

Melanie, what is Evaron House and where is it in Northern Ireland?

We are a family home with 2 double bedrooms set aside for guests. We are located on the Fivey road outside Ballymoney close to the villages of Stranocum and Armoy.

And how did the B&B come about? What’s its story?

We originally had the house up for sale to move closer to Ballymoney, but as viewers arrived at the house we found we actually had more reasons to stay than to go. I always liked the idea of having a B&B, but the seaside towns always seemed like a more likely location until we unravelled the potential of our own location. We wanted a condensed living space for our family and discovered we had sufficient room to house guests exactly where we were. A few rearrangements and the guest accommodation was ready!

What local attractions are nearby?

We are approximately 3 miles from the Dark Hedges (Game of Thrones) and 5 mile from the bottom of Orra Mountain. A 10-15 minute drive takes you to Ballintoy Harbour, White Park Bay, Ballycastle, Bushmills and less than 10 minutes from Ballymoney, as well as the Dunlop Memorial Gardens and Ballymoney Museum.

Is Evaron House pet friendly? How many guests can it sleep?

We don’t have sufficient housing for pets but Slumberdogs Pet Hotel is only 1 mile away.

We can sleep 6 adults (as part of a group or family as a shared bathroom with shower is available). There is also another toilet and wash hand basin separate for guests. Alternatively, we can let out each room as double rooms from separate parties.

And what amenities do you provide?

We offer a full cooked breakfast. Tea/coffee making facilities are in the bedrooms. Picnic-style lunches are also available at an extra cost. We also have a patio area with BBQ facilities (weather permitting).

Are you open all year round?

As this is only our second summer being open we are currently planning to close  December 2020 until early March 2021.

What’s your favourite thing about the accommodation, Melanie?

The location, the bright sunroom for dining, and the large rooms.
