Are you in need of a luxury North Coast break? Does stargazing from a hot tub sound right up your street? Then Aurora is the place for you…

Aurora North Coast offers 5-star luxury self catering accommodation in two  Western Red Cedar log cabins. We are located on the North Antrim Coast just over a mile from the world famous Giant’s Causeway and the historic village of Bushmills.

The 8th generation of their family to have lived in the North Coast area, Pearl and Archie Linnegan established Aurora in 2018. From the outset they wanted to offer guests a very unique experience and after a lot of research settled on Pioneer Log Homes from Williams Lake, near Vancouver, BC, Canada to supply two bespoke log cabins. Crafted by hand from gigantic Canadian Western Red Cedar logs, Aurora’s twin cabins are the first of their kind anywhere in Ireland and offer a unique blend of rustic beauty and modern luxury year-round escapes in comfort and style.

Each of our two cabins can accommodate 4 guests (due to the nature of the build and some features we have a minimum age of 12 years for children staying). We are perfect for honeymoons, special occasions or solace from the frenetic pace of daily life.

There are 2 cabins to choose from: Ulex and Salix. Salix offers two double bedrooms (dual ensuite). In Ulex, the master bedroom has its own adjoining bathroom with free-standing copper bath and views of Rathlin Island, while the second is a bijou bunk room. Both cabins have an open-planned living area with cosy wood burner and fully-equipped kitchen. Each cabin has its own large private veranda and hot tub, perfect for star gazing.

The North Antrim Coast offers a wide range of activities and attractions all within 10/20 minutes of Aurora, offering walking/hiking, blue badge guides, water sports, kayaking, coasteering and boat trips. There are also world-renowned golf courses all close to hand.

The Giants Causeway, Old Bushmills Distillery and the towns of Ballycastle, Bushmills, Portrush and Portstewart are available for the guest who prefers a more leisurely time, and there are numerous craft and independent shops and a wonderful selection of cafes, restaurants and hotels offering freshly cooked produce from the area also close by.

We are open all year round with guests experiencing Christmas and New Year at Aurora – imagine hot-tubbing on Christmas Eve!

We are a family-run venture offering exclusive relaxing breaks. Although we have no plans to expand we want to continue to maintain our existing tree-planting program, through which we have planted over 4,500 native broad leaf trees on site, have living roofs on both cabins, and continue to plant out a sunflower field of approximately 2 acres to encourage wild life and pollinators – a must-see in late August!

My favourite thing about Aurora is watching the expression on guests’ faces as they arrive, open their cabin door and smell the cedar logs. When it’s time to leave guests always look much more relaxed and rested after their “Aurora  Experience.”
