Ballymultimber Cottages are 4 star-rated (TBNI) cottages which provide high-quality, self-catering accommodation. Our cottages are set on the foothills of the majestic Binevenagh mountain, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We are only 4 miles from the award-winning Benone beach, on the Atlantic ocean. A short drive from world class golf courses, salmon rivers, the Giant’s Causeway and Game of Thrones film locations.

Cissy’s thatched cottage was built sometime in the late 1700s. It has been in our family for a number of years and as heritage is so very important to us, we did not want the cottage to go to ruin.

Our wish is to let our children and their children retain a piece of history which, in many areas of our country, has been destroyed.

Therefore, we decided to restore and renovate. We have renovated the barns and outhouses and restored the thatched cottage.

In terms of local attractions, you have nature’s very own playgrounds on your doorstep. Binevenagh Mountain is a walker’s paradise and a seven-mile stretch of golden sandy beach is only 4 miles away. Roe Valley Country Park is a short drive from the cottages where you can walk for miles beside the river or if salmon fishing is your thing, this place is really hard to beat.

The cottages are fully equipped with everything you need for a good night’s sleep and to cater for meals. All three cottages have wood-burning stoves.

The cottages are all pet friendly, however, Cissy’s cottage only sleeps 2 and therefore not suitable for children.

The Barn sleeps 5 (2 x double rooms and 1 x single) and the Garden sleeps 4 ( 1 x double, 1 twin). Both cottages have their own open garden and there is a children’s play area in front of the Barn. The cottages are open all year round.

What I love most about Ballymultimber is that no matter what window you look from, you have a great view: Binevenagh, Donegal Hills and lush green fields in between. I’m also immensely proud of what we have achieved. We didn’t set out to be a business; we just wanted to save a piece of history from the bulldozer. The fact that a business has grown from this act of preservation is obviously an added bonus.

Ballymultimber Cottages offer a quiet, peaceful and very affordable break away from it all. It is important to book in advance as more people are now holidaying at home. Best rates are via our own website and I can be contacted via Facebook or Instagram.
