Hi folks, my name is Mark. I am a local landscape photographer based in Carrickfergus on the outskirts of Belfast in Northern Ireland. I am going to share some of the wonders that we are so lucky to have in Northern Ireland.

Let’s head north to the fantastic Causeway coastal route, a stunning place with rock formations like the famous hexagonal stones that make the Causeway – definitely visit this place if you get the chance! Take yourself a little further up onto the clifftop walk and there are walks for all abilities.

Let’s move on to Armoy, home to the Dark Hedges, an avenue of beech trees that you don’t want to miss (best visited early in the morning).

I’m trying to keep this as short as possible as Northern Ireland has endless possibilities, so I will end with one of my favourite places on the stunning little island.

For me, the Mourne Mountains are just breathtaking. Tollymore Forest at the base of this majestic place is a real highlight, too.

You do not have to be super fit to explore – my advice is to just slip off the beaten track and I can guarantee you will be invigorated. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’ve not mentioned photography in this article simply because it’s the actual surroundings that I enjoy. A wee thanks to Trek NI for giving me some of their time.
