These delightful 2 holiday cottages provide self catering accommodation situated in the Mournes County Down, near Annalong and within easy reach of Newcastle and Kilkeel.

Both cottages are well furnished and equipped and sleep up to 7 in Barney’s and up to 8 in the Grove Cottage.

The Grove

The converted two-story ‘Grove’ cottage is where Michael’s mum, Teresa, was born and raised. The listed building has now been lovingly restored into a stunning three-bedroom holiday home which includes a number of modern appliances, as well as retaining many of its original features. An impressive Mourne granite doorstep adorns the entrance into the 200-year-old home, with matching stone windowsills throughout. In the garden you can find a fully functioning water pump as well as the iconic traditional fireplace found in a number of old Irish cottages, complete with a black iron cast crook and teapot, which welcomes you through the front door.

The Grove sleeps 8 in total with two fully equipped bathrooms; one downstairs and one upstairs. The three bedrooms, which are all upstairs, includes one double bedroom and two family rooms (a single and a double bed in each) with stunning views of the Mournes throughout. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. Bed linen, towels and a washing machine is available for guests to use during their stay. This property is heated with Oil Fired Central Heating, offering instant hot water, and all bills are included in the overall price.

Barney’s

Named after Teresa’s brother Barney, this converted stable barn is pet-friendly and offers full disabled access throughout. The cottage itself sleeps 7 in total, with a double and single bed in the downstairs bedroom. Two more bedrooms are located upstairs; a double bedroom complete with en suite and a twin room with two single beds. The main bathroom, located on the ground floor, has full disabled access with a walk-in shower, toilet and sink.

The open planned kitchen comes fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. The kitchen doubles as a dining area complete with a cosy wood-burning stove, TV, DVD player, wooden dining table and lovingly upholstered antique furniture. Bed linen, towels and a washing machine is available for guests to use during their stay. This property is heated with Oil Fired Central Heating, and all bills are included in the overall price.
