Loaf Pottery and Coffee shop is a social enterprise based in Crawfordsburn, County Down.
We are part of the award-winning NOW Group and we create beautiful, handcrafted artisan pottery whilst supporting people with learning difficulties and autism into jobs with a future.
You can join us for lunch, light refreshments, coffee and a scone or one of our artisan, wood-fired pizzas. Check out the oven in our beautiful garden where we grow herbs and vegetables that are used in our food. Families, walkers and their dogs are very welcome in our café and au naturale garden.
You can also check out our range of lovingly handcrafted pottery. Each pot is handmade with care on the wheel by our in-house potter and the subtle differences in each piece tell their own distinct story. Look out for the throwing rings on the outside of each pot, the indelible marks left behind by the potter’s hands.
Ultimately, we believe pots should be like twins; they may look similar but each has its own unique character. From ball of clay, to finished pot, we design, sculpt, and refine each pot over 27 times to get each one just right.
For the creatives, we run a series of events, if you want to try your hand at pottery and don’t just want to buy something we have made. You can drop in any time and relax to an hour-long Paint Me, Glaze Me session (no booking required), or why not try our perennially popular Pizza and Pottery evenings that run most Thursdays? We are also available for private hire. See the ‘Events’ page of our website for all the details.
Our pottery and pizzas are made with true purpose. We are passionate about everything that we make – and we are equally serious about delivering an impact. If you visit us and buy from us you are making a difference to the lives of the participants we support into training opportunities and jobs with a future.
